Our trees

Our trees are located in Kantia, a small village built by the sea which is bathed by the waters of the Argolic Gulf. Kantia took its name from the Venetian name of the island of Crete (Candia) that was still in use at that time. Like several villages in the area, Kantia was inhabited after the Greek revolution in 1821 by Cretan refugees. Later, Arcadian shepherds who spent their winters in the area, turned the village into their permanent residence, abandoning livestock, after realizing the value of the sea and the fertile ground of the local valley.
